Concerned citizens in Bolton yesterday held a protest against yet another planned mega mosque for the town. The huge mosque construction was recently given the go ahead by Bolton’s Labour controlled council despite a significant lack of parking spaces and concerns of local non-Muslims about the monstrosity building.
Bolton council have a long history of Muslim appeasement and assisting in the Islamization of their own town at the expense of indigenous residents. Bolton council is helps pay for Muslims stealth jihad by providing funding to umbrella group Bolton Council Of Mosques to the tune of over £1 million of local authority money.
The 3 storey mega mosque is to be built in the Great Lever area of Bolton. The proposed mosque is set to come with a huge dome roof and massive 130 metre high minarets which will dominate the local skyline.Bolton at present already has 28 operating mosques many of which are large buildings and cause a great deal of disruption to the surrounding areas.
The ‘Stop The Mosque’ peaceful protest in the town centre passed off trouble-free. This despite the presence of anti democratic communists and Muslims at a protest against the protest organised by Unite Against Fascism. The last time the extremist UAF went to Bolton to counter protest an EDL march the town witnessed disgusting scenes of violence after UAF leader Weyman Bennett, a notorious race baiter incited a near riot which saw him and over 50 other communists arrested. Around the same number as total UAF counter protesters present this time who held ‘refugees welcome’ placards
The SWP front group despise free speech and do not believe in people being able to voice they opinion unless it is the same view as their own or by non white Brits. UAF communists fail to grasp that opposing Muslims stealth jihad and aggressive islamization tactics does not make you a nazi like those of Hitler’s Germany. It is called having the sense to defend your future freedoms.
The Great Lever mosque proposal is the latest approved construction from a long list of controversial applications to be granted planning permission from Bolton’s Muslim loving council. Last year the Labour Council went out on a limb to appease the local Muslims by passing planning permission for two other highly controversial mosque constructions. One in Farnworth and a mega mosque on Blackburn Road.
According to the Muslims behind the proposal the current mosque is to small for the 50-150 Muslims that go to worship there. Yet according to certain Islamic websites that have mosque directories. The current mosque already has a capacity to hold 950 people, which would mean plenty of space to accommodate an increase in numbers attending.
The picture below shows the current mosque which the Islamists behind the project claim is too small to hold 150 people.
As part of the proposal the building shown above will stay ( shown on the right in the image below.) and the new building will not actually be a replacement but a huge add on. This gives some idea on how large the planned development is going to be.
WHO THE HELL DO ‘UNITE AGAINST FASCISM’ THINK THEY ARE DEMANDING WHO CAN OR CANNOT APPEAR ON TV???
Without a single poppy between them, far Left extremists from Unite Against Fascism gathered on Remembrance Sunday outside the BBC headquarters in London to protest about them interviewing French politician Marine Le Pen on the Andrew Marr show.
The small group of communists demanded that the BBC give no platform to Mrs LePen for what they deemed to be her “fascist” views. Demanding she is given no airtime and the BBC make a full public apology for inviting her on the show. For some reason they are under the impression they have some God given right to silence free speech and democracy where we are free to listen to all viewpoints instead of only those that UAF have deemed acceptable.
Race agitator Weyman Bennett, a leader of the Socialist Workers Party and its front group UAF claimed that Marine LePen was “like Adolf Hitler without the uniform”. Weyman Bennett is no stranger to demanding no platform for certain people. Often alleged to ring up event organisers demanding certain guest speakers are given ‘no platform’. Attempting to bully and intimidate them into removing the person they objected to speaking or cancel the event.
Ironically the UAF could do with looking closer to home when calling for no platform and falsely smearing people given the type of people they happily have shared the stage with at their own events. UAF are a front of the SWP who are notorious for hosting hate preachers and terrorists. Here Is a few of the despicable speakers they have promoted in the past and other extremist behaviour of their own :
“NO PLATFORM. NO PLATFORM.” How many times have we heard so-called anti-fascists like Weyman Bennett demanding no platform for extremists at various events in the past where people have been booked to speak. Quite clearly their no platform calls only count for people they consider extremist because they stand opposed to the warped nature of Islam. Tommy Robinson, Nigel Farage and Marie La Pen to name a few who Bennett’s UAF have objected to having any platform. Previously KC has posted about Bennett even ringing up universities trying to bully them into cancelling their bookings of Tommy Robinson.
Yet real extremists of the Muslim kind, like Moazzam Begg for example, do not count it seems to the deluded communists. They not only can speak freely without any calls for no platform. But are actually booked by the very same communists to appear at their own anti everything British events
Moazzam Begg is a former Gitmo detainee, a British based Muslim captured by Coalition forces in Afghanistan and held as an enemy combatant. It was said by US forces that Begg was a member of Al-Qaeda and before going to Afghanistan was an AQ recruiter / fundraiser here in the UK. Since being released from Gitmo and returning here to the UK, Moazzam Begg was arrested and held on terror charges related to his involvement with terrorist entity’s in Syria.
Moazzam Begg proved his extremist views haven’t changed by his involvement as head of terrorist support group CAGE, formally known as Cage Prisoners. A group set up to aid Muslim terrorists held in prison. Lobbying for their release and hosting fundraisers at mosques around the UK.
CAGE is the same group who controversially hit the headlines when ISIS posterboy Jihadi John’s true identity was unmasked. Beggs terror supporting group CAGE then revealed that they already knew the executioners identity and had been in regular contact with him. Instead of passing the information on to the police like any decent law-abiding person would do, they said nothing until after the press revealed his details. Without shame CAGE seized the media spotlight publicly calling barbaric killer Mohammed Emwazi ‘a lovely lad’ and attempted to blame counter terrorism police for his sickening actions.
Terror supporter Moazzam Begg appeared recently at communist hate fest Marxism 2016 where the topics covered are pretty much all about one of the following subjects: anti – British, pro Islam, pro refugees or lets all discuss and wank over Karl Marx.(they still don’t get it that Marx’s ideas when put into practice are huge failures i.e. communism)
The yearly London event is organised by the Socialist Workers Party. SWP just so happen to be the ones controlling the front groups we often see demonstrating up and down the country. Notably those that claim to be anti racist such as Unite Against Fascism, Stop The War Coalition and Stand Up To Racism. All controlled and sharing the same leadership with the SWP. For example bully Weyman Bennett front man of UAF is also a leader of SWP. The same with the notorious former SWP leading member ‘Comrade Delta’ aka Martin Smith who was a paid full-time UAF member and ran the front group ‘Love Music Hate Racism’.
The ‘anti racism’ front groups are little more than a meal ticket for the SWP to pay their leaders a wage, receive donations, recruiting new members at demos and to sell their shitty communist propaganda rag ‘Socialist Worker’. To call themselves anti fascists and against extremism is the biggest joke ever. This is evident in this video as the middle class old people and gullible students attending this event actually give Moazzam Begg a standing ovation, cheering like he is some kind of hero. This is a true extremist if ever there was one. A man who was fighting against our troops in Afghanistan, linked to Al-Qaeda, a terrorist supporter and runs a jihadist support group. Begg and his ilk are a threat to the future of every single British person.
The real fascists of today are the communists like Weyman Bennett and co who come in the guise of ‘anti fascists’. Attempting to silence free speech for those oppose, falsely smearing people as Nazis and fascists because they voice their concern about Islam. Whist facilitating Muslim fundamentalists and terrorist supporters whose goal is the downfall of our society.
Known race agitator and terrorist supporter Malia Bouattia has been voted president of the National Union of Students. Bouattia infamously blocked a motion condemning ISIS claiming it was Islamophobic to do so. The extremist who now has even more influence over hundreds of thousands students is a prominent activist for communist umbrella groups such as Unite Against Fascism and well known for her hatred of white and Jewish people.
Expect to see much more controversy from this Muslim trouble causer in the near future
A student criticised for not supporting a motion condemning the so-called Islamic State has been voted president of the National Union of Students.
But the NUS says Malia Bouattia was disputing the wording of the motion and not the principle – and backed a later condemnation of the terror group.
The student also co-wrote an article describing Birmingham University as “something of a Zionist outpost”.
Ms Bouattia will be the NUS’s first black Muslim woman president.
The newly-elected NUS leader promised to put “liberation at the heart of our work”.
“From cuts to maintenance grants, college closures, the black attainment gap and the Prevent agenda, the number of voices and groups being silenced by this government grows by day.”
Her campaigns have included “Why Is My Curriculum White?” and she has opposed the government’s Prevent counter-extremism strategy.
In 2011, she co-wrote a blog for a Friends of Palestine campaign group saying that“the University of Birmingham is something of a Zionist outpost in British Higher Education”.
The group also publicised that they were “re-enacting an Israeli checkpoint outside the university’s main library”.
Labour MP and former student leader Wes Streeting tweeted: “NUS is lost I’m afraid.” He said “it no longer represents students well”.
In a 2014 video from a Gaza and Palestinian Revolution event she questioned the value of the Middle East peace talks and warned of the influence of “mainstream Zionist-led media outlets”.
In October 2014, Ms Bouattia rejected a motion put forward by other students to condemn terrorist acts committed by the so-called Islamic State group.
The NUS says that this was a dispute over the appropriateness of the wording.
“Some committee members felt that the wording of the motion being presented would unfairly demonise all Muslims rather than solely the group of people it set out to rightfully condemn,” said an NUS spokeswoman.
The NUS says a subsequent motion condemned “the politics and methods of ISIS” and that this re-worded policy was supported by Ms Bouattia.
“NUS does not support ISIS and has always condemned violent terrorism,” said a union spokeswoman.
Last week Ms Bouattia responded to an open letter signed by university Jewish society leaders, rejecting claims of prejudice.
“It seems I have been misrepresented. I am extremely uncomfortable with insinuations of anti-Semitism.
“I want to be clear that for me to take issue with Zionist politics is not me taking issue with being Jewish.
“In fact, Zionist politics are held by people from a variety of different faiths, as are anti-Zionist politics.
“It is a political argument, not one of faith,” she said.
But Labour MP John Mann, and chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group Against Anti-Semitism, said the NUS “is not doing enough to combat anti-Jewish hatred, and as such is failing in its responsibilities to its members”
Radio host Jon Gaunt destroys Unite Against Fascism / Socialist Workers Party leader Weyman Bennett live on air when discussing Tommy Robinson and Pegida.
Communist Weyman Bennett spits his dummy out big time when host John Gaught points out that Bennett is both a liar and a hypocrite. Bennett is a completely delusional moron, rather than answer the questions and talk about Tommy Robinson and Pegida . He continuously twisted the truth and in some cases told complete lies about Tommy Robinson/Pegida. When pointed out he was talking crap would then rather dodge the questions and start waffling on about the 1930s, Hitler and Mussolini which were nothing relevant to the subject but his attempt to link anybody who objects to Islamization or doesn’t want an open borders immigration policy as being a Nazi or Fascist
Weyman Bennett is a complete joke who does nothing but stir up trouble and scaremonger to justify UAFs existence which pays for him to be a full time SWP activist . He still repeats the exact same lies and has the same hypocritical attitude as last time John Gaunt destroyed him on air. Here is the recording from last time.
Other UAF controversy’s:
As British borders come under siege on a nightly basis with up to 2000 illegal immigrants a time, trying to storm the Eurotunnel entrance to enter the UK. A far-left extremist group called ‘Folkstone United’ have reached the pinnacle of all stupidity, arranging a demo in support of poor illegals who are being denied an open border into Britain.
The demonstration at the Eurotunnel terminal is due to take place on Saturday 1st August. A counter demo by the EDL and other concerned locals is also planned
In case the Folkstone United name hadn’t already given it away. The group are yet another Socialist Workers Party / Unite Against Fascism front group. Like their other communist front groups the aim is to stir up unrest in the tiny hope it brings about the marxist revolution they long for. Failing that its always chance for the SWP to raise some funds by donations or sales of their shitty paper ‘Socialist Worker’
This is the same bunch of loons who carried out a campaign of harassment against UKIP including the physical attack of Nigel Farage in the run up to the election. Their leader is the foul mouthed old slapper, Bunny La Roche. She is a paid SWP activist and the same hardcore communist who made a fool of herself on BBC Question Time by gobbing off and threatening Farage shouting “im coming for you”
Folkstone United don’t care that the knock on effect of having miles of trucks stranded on either sides of the channel tunnel is estimated to be costing British businesses in excess of £250 million a day which will no doubt be passed onto us the consumer. Nor are they concerned about who will foot the bill for the benefits they will claim once here or the extra policing costs for the hike in crime which the uncivilized migrants will also bring
Unlike the leftists try to have people believe. Those attempting to get into the UK are not victims escaping persecution in their homelands. They are simply migrants who have been denied legitimate entry into the UK. A genuine asylum seeker escaping war or other persecution would be more than happy to take sanctuary in the first safe nation they entered. Not travel from Pakistan via countless safe nations to Calais which is also a safe haven,to try reach the UK. The reason is simple its all about the £££.
In many countries asylum seekers will be kept in hostels or detention centres while their asylum claim is being processed. Once rejected the authorities know were they are and can easily ship them back out. Where as in the UK they will be given free housing and welfare payments during the long drawn out application and numerous appeals. Should they still be denied entry they can just slip away into the night without trace. The number of failed Muslim asylum seekers featured on this site who have gone on to commit serious crimes such as rape or murder is testament to that
On February 7th, activists from the English Defence Leauge descended upon Dudley to peacefully protest against the proposed mega mosque. The imposing construction was granted planning permission by the local Labour council despite hundreds of objections by locals.
Local press reported that there was approximately 600 patriots at the EDL protest. As usual communist front group Unite Against Fascism held a counter protest which was attended by around 50 far left extremists.
Following the protest the local paper ran the headline :
Twenty nine people were arrested as 600 EDL supporters descended on Dudley to protest plans for a new mosque.
The report also featured Chief Superintendent Chris Johnson saying “While West Midlands Police has no power to ban people from exercising their democratic right to express their opinions through protest, we have been planning the policing operation for months.”
Council leader Councillor Pete Lowe “We have said all along that the EDL is not welcome in Dudley borough but there are no legal powers to stop them holding a protest.
The impression given by the newspaper is that those who were arrested in Dudlley were there as part of the EDL protest, This is seemingly backed up by the comments by the Police and council leader who both make it clear they did not approve of the EDL being there. Yet this was far removed from the truth
It took a freedom of information request to West Midlands Police to reveal that only 4 out of the 29 arrests made were part of the EDL demo. The other 25 arrested were from those in opposition to the EDL as part of the Unite Against Fascism counter protests.
The authorities want to make groups like the EDL be smeared as the bad guys. If not the public may start to listen to their message and wake up to the stealth jihad and islamization going on all around them.
Once again the communist parasite infested National Union of Students have shown their vile and completely senseless true colours by defending the terrorist savages from ISIS. The NUS extremists refused to condemn those responsible for the butchering of British hostages, committing acts of mass genocide by executing Christians, Kurds and other minorities in Syria and Iraq. Their refusal to do so, citing that criticism of ISIS would be islamophobic really does make make me question what hope is their for this country when so called well educated people who in years to come will have a big part to play, come out with such verbal ‘pc’diarrhoea .
The NUS claims to represent the interests of British students….but from where i am sitting i’d say their abhorrent opinions represent more those of the Socialist Workers Party than your everyday student. By pure coincidence many of those in the NUS hierarchy just so happen to be members of the extremist SWP or its front groups UAF and Stop the War Coalition.
Communists traitors are forever defending Islamic fundamentalists, and unfortunately it seems like the radical leftists controlling the NUS has made that one of their main agendas. At their recent conference a proposed bill called for the Union to support unity between Muslims, condemn the bloody terror of ISIS (also known as the Islamic State), and support a boycott on people who fund the jihadists.
Had it been regarding Israel the NUS would of been fighting each other to be first to the stand and condemn them. In fact they already are supporting boycotting any businesses and products related to the nation commies and Muslims love to hate.
Instead the motion offended anti-white racist Malia Bouattia, NUS Black Students Officer who said: “We recognise that condemnation of ISIS appears to have become a justification for war and blatant Islamaphobia. “This rhetoric exacerbates the issue at hand and in essence is a further attack on those we aim to defend.”
In the same meeting the NUS passed a motion to boycott UKIP and email every student in the country on polling day telling them to do the same – effectively meaning they find it easier to condemn UKIP than ISIS.
Oh the irony eh!!!!……….. why is their even such a position of Black Students Officer anyway if there is no white or any other colour Students Officer that only represents people of a certain colour. That promotes things such as ‘black history’ month. Just imagine if it was a white student group having ‘white history’ month. Extremist idiots like Malia Bouattia, would have something to say i’m sure.
Her twitter account tells an interesting story where she follows well known Islamists like Tower Hamlets corrupt mayor Lutfur Rahman. The majority of her activity is typical communist / Islamic extremist behaviour. Full of hate for all things British and anti establishment in nature. Inciting her followers to join her on anti Semitic protests, demanding more perks for illegal immigrants and supporting gangsters because they are non white. Despite all her subsidised education this racist traitor clearly has not learnt any common sense.
— Malia Bouattia (@MaliaBouattia) July 26, 2014
Supporting Hamas terrorists
Morons like the NUS and its fascist black only section supporting terrorism are not part of the solution to any of the UK’s issues. They are part of the problem.
NUS Race agitator Aron Kiely who is also UAF student officer agreed with his fellow extremist that criticism of ISIS is racist. Kiely is the NUS dhimmi who stoked up all the problems at a Birmingham college last year where he bullied them into removing an 8 year old burka ban claiming it was islamaphobic.
The National Union of Students has come under fire after it refused to condemn ISIS – because of fears it was ‘Islamophobic’.
Students put forward a motion at the body’s National Executive Council meeting calling for the condemnation of terrorist atrocities and support for the Iraqi people.
But the call was defeated after a rebellion led by Black Students Officer Malia Bouattia, who said the motion was merely a ‘justification for war’.
The National Union of Students has come under fire after it refused to condemn ISIS – because of fears it was ‘Islamophobic’. Fighters from ISIS are pictured marching in Raqqa, Syria
It comes a day after military chiefs from around the globe met to discuss the battle against ISIS and despite a number of Muslim leaders in Britain having condemned the extremist group.
One student, who wished to remain anonymous, said: ‘Islamophobia is a meaningless term used by irrational people when unable to rebut a rational criticism.
‘Malia Bouattia should realise how lucky she is to be able to stand up and express her opinions with freedom and security.
‘She would not enjoy the same freedom if she were to visit the ISIS/ISIL that she refuses to condemn, and protested her opinions.’
Another added: ‘I personally would find something rather Islamophobic in Ms Bouattia’s idea that condemning ISIS is also to condemn the other, approximately two billion Muslims on the planet – who don’t rape minorities or murder journalists.
‘They don’t want ISIS to carry out such attacks in the name of their religion, and who in the West have repeatedly begged not to be associated with the activities of “Islamic” State.
‘If the vast majority of Muslim students in the UK are in fact repeatedly standing up and telling you that they don’t like ISIS, that these terrorists don’t represent their faith, that they don’t want to be associated with them in any way – then how exactly is not condemning ISIS helping to fight Islamophobia?’
The motion, proposed by Daniel Cooper, was raised at the National Union of Students’ NEC meeting at Derbyshire House in London in September.
It put forward seven suggestions as to how the body could support the ongoing battle with the Islamic State.
The motion stated: ‘To work with the International Students’ Campaign to support Iraqi, Syrian and other international students in the UK affected by this situation.
‘To campaign in solidarity with the Iraqi people and in particular support the hard-pressed student, workers’ and women’s organisations against all the competing nationalist and religious-right forces.
The National Union of Students (NUS) has come under fire after it refused to condemn ISIS – because of fears it was ‘Islamophobic’. The NUS headquarters in London is pictured above
‘To support Iraqis trying to bridge the Sunni-Shia divide to fight for equality and democracy, including defence of the rights of the Christian and Yazidi-Kurd minorities.
‘To condemn the IS and support the Kurdish forces fighting against it, while expressing no confidence or trust in the US military intervention.
‘Encourage students to boycott anyone found to be funding the IS or supplying them with goods, training, travel or soldiers.
‘To make contact with Iraqi and Kurdish organisations, in Iraq and in the UK, in order to build solidarity and to support refugees. and To issue a statement on the above basis.’
But Birmingham student Malia Bouattia led a team who either abstained or voted against the proposal, leading to the motion’s defeat.
She said: ‘We recognise that condemnation of ISIS appears to have become a justification for war and blatant Islamaphobia.
‘This rhetoric exacerbates the issue at hand and in essence is a further attack on those we aim to defend.
‘The NUS Black Students’ Campaign stands in support of Black communities across the globe and uncompromisingly against imperialism and Western interference which history shows all too often leads to the suffering of Black people.
‘We stand in complete solidarity with the Kurdish people against the recent attacks by ISIS and join many others in condemnation of their brutal actions.
‘The NUS Black Students’ Campaign will be working with Kurdish students and the International Students Campaign to raise this issue within the NUS.’
She added that she will now begin work on a revised motion which will not be ‘Islamophobic’.
But Daniel Cooper, who proposed the motion, said he could not see any signs of Islamophobia.
He said: ‘I have looked again and again at the contents of the motion, yet I cannot track any Islamophobia or racism.
‘There is a stranglehold of “identity politics” on the student movement.
‘This is an issue which needs to be discussed in more depth, but essentially the idea is widespread that if a Liberation Officer opposes something, it must be bad.’
Earlier this year Muslim leaders in Britain condemned ISIS expressing their ‘grave concern’ at continued violence in its name.
Representatives from both the Sunni and Shia groups in the UK relayed their message that the militant group does not represent the majority of Muslims.
Shuja Shafi, of the Muslim Council of Great Britain, said at the time: ‘Violence has no place in religion, violence has no religion.’
As international condemnation of the extremists continued to grow this week, US President Barack Obama met with representatives from a global coalition of 22 countries to discuss the battle against ISIS.
Representatives from Australia, Canada, Egypt, France, Iraq and Jordan were among those who attended the meeting.
In a statement, the NUS said: ‘At our most recent NEC meeting, a motion on this issue was presented and voted on by all members.
‘Some committee members felt that the wording of the motion being presented would unfairly demonise all Muslims rather than solely the group of people it set out to rightfully condemn.
‘NUS does not support ISIS and a new motion will be taken to the next NUS National Executive Committee meeting, which will specifically condemn the politics and methods of ISIS and offer solidarity for the Kurdish people.’
Extremists from the Islamic far right and from the communist far left once again joined together in a protest that ended in violence. Both sides united by their racist views and an immense hatred of Jews and Israel took to the streets to support the terrorist state of Palestine.
Trouble flared at a march in Cardiff as hundreds turned up to protest against the ongoing violence in Gaza.
In ugly scenes, as protesters passed the city’s Mill Lane – popular with diners and drinkers – chairs and tables were thrown at them by people drinking outside in the bars.
Witnesses saw chairs and tables being thrown into crowds as the protest passed by.
Placards were also apparently used as weapons as anger erupted on the busy street, which is packed with bars and restaurants.
Videos posted on YouTube and Facebook showed men throwing chairs into the crowd.
South Wales Police said around 1,500 people took part in the march while the disorder broke out on Mill Lane and St Mary Street in two separate incidents.
A 22-year-old man, from Caerphilly, was arrested for assault and a 33-year-old man, from Pontypridd, was arrested for affray.
Police said neither of the men were from the rally group.
Both men have been bailed pending further enquiries and police are speaking with witnesses and examining footage from the event.
Chief Inspector Dan Howe said: “The police were there to ensure the safety of everyone involved and the vast majority of people behaved in a calm and sensible way, however extra officers attended to provide reassurance to the community.
“Unfortunately not all of those in Cardiff yesterday afternoon were well-behaved and violence broke out with a small minority which disrupted an otherwise peaceful demonstration.
“Disruption was kept to a minimum and the rally went on to conclude peacefully and we are grateful for the support we received from the local community.”
Newport councillor Majid Rahman said the marchers heard confrontational chanting as they made their way past Walkabout on St Mary Street before violence erupted on Mill Lane.
“A lot of marchers were injured but because there was no police presence, the people who hurled glasses, tables and chairs got away with it,” he told BBC Wales.
“South Wales Police were poor – it was a lack of presence.
“When I got back to City Hall, I saw two police officers then a van of police officers turned up, but by then it was too late because we were back safe at City Hall.
“The response was inadequate, it was poor and they need to answer for this.”
South Wales Police defended the way it handled the march.
Chief Inspector Dan Howe said: “This was an alarming and violent incident. It was, however, an isolated occurrence.
“While a protest in the previous week drew smaller numbers, and passed without incident, Saturday saw a larger scale event which also coincided with a busy Saturday afternoon in the city.
“Officers in Cardiff police this scale of event regularly and the violence that occurred is an exceptional occurrence, but one that needs to be examined.”
The force said they are reviewing the events and that a “robust investigation” was under way into how the “violent events” arose.
Marchers unconnected with the violent scenes told why they were there.
Tariq Mohamed, 36, from Barry, said he was marching to show his solidarity with the people of Palestine.
He said: “We need to protect the innocent people who are being killed every day. It’s not about race or religion. It’s all down to the Government. They need to do something. They need to stop the oppressor and protect the oppressed. That is what today is all about.”
Israel’s incursion into Gaza has killed more than 1,000 Palestinians, including at least 192 children.
Efforts by international powers to broker a complete end to the violence have so far proved fruitless, with Israel’s defense minister warning Israel may soon “significantly” expand the ground operation in Gaza.
Kimberley Chambers, from Cardiff, said she was protesting against the “obliteration” of Palestinians.
The 29-year-old said: “Every time I watch the news all I hear about is the Israelis who have been killed. They are the ones who are being given millions of pounds to slaughter Palestinians. It’s an unfair war. It’s not right. There needs to be more awareness. That’s why I am here.”
Project manager Shamim Rahman, 42, came from Newport to participate in the march.
He said: “It is very bad now. It is so sad for humans to do that to each other. Young children and women are being killed for no reason. It must stop.”
Unite, the biggest union in the UK, has branded the killing of young people as “deplorable”.
A statement of solidarity with the Palestinians stated the retaliation from Israeli settlers and the Israeli authorities was “utterly disproportionate and unjustified.”
Further events against Israel’s military operation in Gaza were underway in other towns and cities across the UK yesterday including Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Newcastle. Over 45,000 people gathered to protest in London.
Anyone who was in the vicinity of Mill Lane or the Retro Lounge in Cardiff on Sunday afternoon and witnessed the incident or has any information in connection to it, is asked to call South Wales Police on 101 quoting reference number 1400271933.
