Eight men have been found guilty of 16 charges related to the sexual abuse of three girls in Rotherham between 1999 and 2003.

The men, all from Rotherham, are Sageer Hussain, Mohammed Whied, Ishtiaq Khaliq, Waleed Ali, Asif Ali, Masoued Malik, Basharat Hussain and Naeem Rafiq.

They are due to be sentenced on 4 November.

Det Ch Insp Martin Tate said they committed “vile crimes”.

The men were found guilty at Sheffield Crown Court after more than 17 hours of deliberations by the jury.

They “sexualised” their victims, as young as 13 at the time of the offences, and subjected them to “degrading and violent” acts.

One girl and her family told police, their MP and then-home secretary David Blunkett, but eventually moved to Spain to get away from the men.

After the verdict, Det Ch Insp Martin Tate said the trial marked the culmination of three years investigative work by police, Rotherham Council and the Crown Prosecution Service into the calculated and organised sexual exploitation of young girls in Rotherham.

He said the verdicts were of “massive importance” to the victims, who suffered years of abuse.

Det Ch Insp Martin Tait of South Yorkshire Police

“They had to endure what no child should and have shown remarkable bravery throughout our inquiry,” he said.

“They carried themselves with composure and dignity and I am so grateful to these women, many of whom remain incredibly vulnerable, for offering their support to our investigative team.

“I am so pleased their voices have been heard and their abusers have been held to account for their vile crimes.

“I hope by hearing these brave women’s accounts, other victims find the strength to tell someone what has or is happening to them.”

Det Ch Insp Tate said there was much to be done to tackle the “organised and often devious crime”, but said officers continued to work to safeguard victims, identify and apprehend offenders.

‘Tremendous bravery’

Peter Mann, of Yorkshire and Humberside Crown Prosecution Service, paid tribute to the victims.

“In contrast to the courage and strength of the victims, these men’s actions are utterly abhorrent,” he said.

“They waged a campaign of sexual violence and intimidation against young girls in the Rotherham area 13 years ago.

“Sageer Hussain in particular took a leading role in befriending the young girls, and in the case of one victim, passed her on to his friends and other associates.”

A girl who was first abused by an Asian sex gang when she was a teenager was raped again by the same men as an adult, a court heard.
The alleged victim was just 15 and living in a care home in Oxford when she was introduced to the men by two other teenagers at the end of 1999, the court heard.
Over two years, the alleged victim was subject to a string of rapes and sexual assaults in a number of locations, including a guest house and a car that came to be known as the ‘s**g wagon’.
The defendants then ‘caught up’ with the woman once she reached her 20s and abused her between 2005 and 2007, in one occasion raping her in front of her baby son, it is claimed.

Abuse: One of the victims was molested at the Nanford Guest House in Oxford, pictured, the court heard
She is one of two women who claim they were abused by the gang of men as teenagers.
The second girl was just 13 when she was first targeted in 2007 and was the victim of a number of sexual assaults over two years, it is claimed.
Oxford Crown Court heard both girls were ‘enticed’ into a cycle of abuse that they were ‘not equipped’ to handle, or remove themselves from.
Qasim Hussain, 30, Owais Khan, 32, Assad Hussain, 35, Anjum Dogar, 34, and Alladitta Yousef, 46, known as ‘The Governor’, are all charged with a string of sex offences.
Naim Khan, 37, is also accused of supplying the girls with drugs while Akhtar Dogar, 35, faces an additional charge of threatening to kill the alleged victims.
The men, all from Oxford, stand charged with a total of 41 counts.

Opening the trial at Oxford Crown Court, prosecutor Stuart Trimmer QC, described the two alleged victims as ‘vulnerable’ and said they were ‘simply used by these defendants for entertainment’.
‘They were enticed into a world where they were not equipped to deal with the real intentions of these offenders.’
He said the defendants introduced the girls to drink and drugs to establish control, which was then reinforced by threats and involvement in shared criminal behaviour.
He continued: ‘The defendants did not fear discovery not expecting that anyone would complain or that if they did, expecting that they would not be believed.’
The jury heard the first girl had been in the care system since she was a toddler due to her mother’s persistent problems with alcohol abuse.

‘Her personality was sunny and caring but vulnerable,’ the prosecutor said. ‘She always wanted lots of affection and wanted to please people. She would speak to anyone and trusted people quickly.
‘She wanted to see the best in people and would form attachments very quickly. She was lonely and just wanted to be loved.’
The jury heard that at the time she was introduced to the men she had the face of a 12-year-old but the body of a child aged seven or eight.
Mr Trimmer said the men asked her to join them drinking vodka and smoking cannabis in taxis, which they drove to a house because they were Muslim and did not want to be seen with alcohol.
In a statement read to the court, the alleged victim said the men had made her ‘feel like she was worth knowing’.
‘I had something that these people were interested in,’ she said. ‘And for a young girl to have older men interested in her you can kind of turn a blind eye to the nasty sexual side.’
Mr Trimmer said the girl was fearful she would be beaten if she tried to defy the group.
She went into her bedroom to sleep, however, he got into the bed behind her. She begged him to at least go into another room. She was in pain but did not want to make a noise in case she woke her son.
Prosecutor Stuart Trimmer QC
‘She didn’t want to fight them because she thought they had no limits,’ he said. ‘While these things were happening she felt like a bit of meat being passed around.’
The court heard the first sexual activity happened when the victim was drunk. She had been left with Assad, also known as ‘Ash’ in the back of a green people carrier.
Assad forced her to perform oral sex and then raped her immediately after, it was heard.
He said that the offending in the people carrier became so routine that the ‘s**g wagon’ had baby wipes and a bottle of water in the glove box so she could wipe her face and swirl her mouth out.’
The court heard how the teenager was also molested at bed and breakfast, Nanford Guest House, in Oxford. The prosecutor that she had sex with the men in exchange for drugs, including crack cocaine and heroin.
The abuse started again when she was an adult, the jury heard. The prosecutor said she was anally raped by Khan on a number of occasions, including once when her son was asleep in the room.
He said: ‘She went into her bedroom to sleep, however, he got into the bed behind her. She begged him to at least go into another room. She was in pain but did not want to make a noise in case she woke her son.’
On another occasion Akhtar Dogar and Assad drove her to a woodland area outside of Oxford and she believed she was going to be murdered, the court heard.
When they reached an area with soft ground, Akhtar Dogar said to her: ‘If you report me you end up like her, because that is where the last girl tried to report us is, she’s there.’
During the exchange he used a derogatory term for a white girl.
The sexual abuse of the 13-year-old girl only came to light when police found footage on Khan’s phone showing her being forced to perform oral sex on Hussain.
It was heard that both men had previously admitted their parts in the video but said they thought the young girl was over the age of consent.
However in a conversation recorded while they were in the cells, Hussain admitted he thought the girl was 15.
Assad Hussain, 35, is charged with six counts of indecent assault and rape. Anjum Dogar, 34, is accused of three counts of indecent assault and two of rape. Akhtar Dogar, 32, is charged with one count of indecent assault, two of rape and one of making threats to kill. Naim Khan, 37, is charged with two charges of indecent assault, two charges of supplying a controlled drug, one of rape, two of sexual activity with a child and one of causing a child to engage in sexual activity. Owais Khan, 32, stands accused of one count of indecent assault and five of rape. Alladitta Yousef, 46, is accused of four counts of indecent assault. Qasim Hussain, 30, is charged with one count of rape and two of sexual activity with a child.
The first 35 counts relates to the victim who alleged abuse started when she was aged 15 years.
The court was told that counts 36 to 41 were from a second girl who was aged just 13 years when the alleged abuse started between 2007 and 2009.
The defendants deny all charges. The hearing continues.

Peterborough Muslim Grooming Gang Targeted White Girls For Gang Rapes And Exploitation

It was only a couple of months back since the trial of the last grooming gang from Peterborough ended, now this week another separate grooming gang are on trial to face justice for their sick actions against vulnerable British schoolgirls.

Four of the five before the bench are Pakistanis whom the prosecution say purposely targeted vulnerable white girls, who they groomed first online before sexually exploiting and gang raping them.

Given the amount of Muslim grooming gangs that have been busted over the last two years, even the most committed Muslim apologists and far left Muslim appears will struggle to back up their denials that this kind of twisted crime is a major Muslim problem. The figures speak  for themselves.

Without doubt an above average amount of Muslim males have an unnatural deviant fetish for under age children. A sick tradition that has continued through the last 1500 years since the very beginning of Islam. Started by its founding member the false prophet Mohammed who himself was involved in a paedophile /minor  marriage to 6 year old Ayisha

Sex abuse gang targeted young girls in Lincolnshire and Rutland, jury told

A gang targeted vulnerable teenage girls through social networking sites before sexually exploiting and gang-raping them, prosecutors have told a court

Five men are standing trial at Cambridge Crown Court accused of trafficking and raping eight girls who were aged between 13 and 16 at the time of the allegations, which date between 2008 and 2013.

The victims were from the Lincolnshire, Rutland and Peterborough area.

Prosecutor Patricia Lynch told jurors yesterday (Monday) that the girls were vulnerable not only because of their age but also their “difficult” social backgrounds.

Opening the case against the defendants, four of whom are Pakistani, she added: “This case involves the deliberate sexual exploitation of young vulnerable white girls by a group of older Asian men.

“These defendants singled out these girls because of their vulnerability.

“Contact started and continued through Facebook, Blackberry messaging, text messaging and mobile phones.”

After being “chatted up” online, the victims would be collected from near their homes before being driven to secluded spots in Peterborough, Ms Lynch said.

She added that once they had gained their confidence and plied them with alcohol, the men, all from Peterborough, “passed the girls around” and used them as “sex objects.”

Some of the abuse. including degrading acts, was filmed on a mobile phone and jurors will be shown this footage.

Yasir Ali, 28, of Grange Road, denies six counts of rape, two of making indecent photographs of children, one of sexual activity in the presence of a child, seven of trafficking and one of witness intimidation.

Daaim Ashraf, 19, of Almoners Lane, denies three counts of rape, one of sexual assault, one of sexual activity with a child, one of sexual activity in the presence of a child, seven of trafficking and one of witness intimidation.

Akash Yasin, 18, of Gladstone Street, denies one count of sexual assault and two of trafficking.

James Daly, 25, of Grange Road, denies one count of rape.

Mohammed Aslam, 24, of Grange Road, denies one count of rape and one of sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Ms Lynch said that the men would initially flatter and gain the confidence of the girls, who cannot be named for legal reasons. But later they would use them for sex in hotels and cars.

Ms Lynch said: “In their drunken condition the girls would either be used for sex or passed between the defendants for sex.”

The allegations came to light after social services raised concerns with police. Ms Lynch said: “Many of these girls come from extremely troubled backgrounds.

“Some of them come from chaotic backgrounds, some display behavioural issues, some sexualised behaviour and alcohol or drug issues.

“Their very young age, their vulnerability, the grooming process and the use of alcohol negates any consent that they may have given.

“They were effectively used as sex objects by these defendants.”

Ms Lynch added that Ali, the oldest of the defendants, was “undoubtedly the primary offender”. Known to the girls as Mr Nice or his Facebook name Sketcher Piddocks, he is accused of initiating much of the contact.

Describing the experience of one of the victims, who had spent time in a young offenders’ institute, Ms Lynch said that the first time she was raped, the girl was so drunk on vodka that she wanted to go to sleep.

Ali had sex with her despite her saying she did not want to.

Ms Lynch added that after the first time they had sex, Ali would cease to be an “attentive, loving boyfriend” and began “farming her out” to other men.

On one occasion, Ali’s friend Daly forcibly removed her clothes before having sex with her against her wishes, Ms Lynch said.

She added: “When she told Ali, who she thought was her boyfriend, what happened, he laughed.”

Ms Lynch added that later when the girl told Ali she was pregnant with his child, he called her a “slag” and assaulted her.

A second victim said she was raped by Ali in 2008 despite him knowing she was 15 and still at school. He went on to abuse her on several occasions before ending contact after her sixteenth birthday, the victim told police.

Two other girls, aged 14 at the time, were sexually assaulted by Yasin and Ashraf on the same night despite one of them being in the early stages of pregnancy.

The case is expected to last up to eight weeks.

Video: The Savage Muslim Schoolgirl Mob Of The Red Mosque

Girls of the Red Mosque – The Red Mosque is promoting Taliban principals and their schoolgirls are attempting to force Sharia law on the community.

Meet the militant schoolgirls from Pakistan who want to ‘Talibanise’ their country. Students from the Red Mosque are adopting vigilante tactics to punish those accused of offending Islam. Brandishing sticks and clad in heavy niqabs, a mob of angry women step up their campaign for Sharia law. These women are accused of using kidnapping and torture to get their way. “They broke down the door with axes”, complains one woman, suspected of being a prostitute. “Then they put ropes around our necks and dragged us out like dogs”. She claims the Mosque’s followers; “beat me with sticks and pulled out my toenails.” Inspired by early success, radicals at the Red Mosque issued a list of demands to the government. When these were rejected, the mosque set up its own Sharia court, in defiance of the government, and went looking for people to arrest. According to Mosque founder, Mullana Ghazi, they have been forced to take these actions because; “The system is not working. The police are not policing”. But others see the women of the Red Mosque as a media sideshow. As Imran Khan states; “how can a couple of hundred women threaten a country of 160 million?”

Personally i see it as yet another example of Islam’s followers violent, demanding and backwards mentality.

Iraqi Refugee Pimped Out Four Schoolgirls He Gave Drink And Drugs

A Muslim immigrant gaining the trust of vulnerable girls, those from dysfunctional families and runaways. Plying the young girls with drink and drugs till they became addicted and would do anything for a fix. Using the underage girls for his sexual gratification. Prostituting the schoolgirls out for money to a network of filthy paedophiles.

Yes, it does sound very familiar doesn’t it. It could be describing one of many instances of Muslim grooming that have featured on these pages in the past. Only this one isn’t from Rochdale, Bradford, Burnley or any other of the numerous towns up and down the UK where Muslim grooming has taken place. This is thousand’s of miles away, across the Atlantic Ocean in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  The Muslim grooming epidemic has hit America

Sex-trafficking case involves Iraqi refugee

Man accused of prostituting teen girls

A refugee from Iraq living in Sioux Falls kept four young girls drunk or high while prostituting them for money and drugs, a federal prosecutor told jurors Thursday as his trial came to a close.

Mohammed Sharif Alaboudi also beat the women between September 2011 and October 2012 and had sex with at least two of them, assistant U.S. attorney Kevin Koliner said.

“This man used drugs and girls as currency, as objects,” Koliner said. “He will hold that light bulb pipe to the mouth of a 15-year-old child so she can try it for the first time.”

Alaboudi is accused of horrible acts, his lawyer Stacy Kooistra acknowledged. Kooistra sought to undermine the government’s case by pointing to inconsistencies in the victims’ testimonies at trial this week.

“Specificity, ladies and gentlemen. We’ve been chasing that all week,” he said.

Kooistra also questioned the veracity of Alaboudi’s alleged partner, Emmanuel Nyuon, who Kooistra said avoided prison time for raping a minor by agreeing to testify against Alaboudi.

Both men were arrested in 2012. Undercover detectives arrested Nyuon after he delivered a 14-year-old girl to a Sioux Falls motel for prostitution, and they uncovered a scheme by Alaboudi and Nyuon to use the Internet to find clients for underage prostitutes.

Alaboudi is charged with one count of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking with a child, a count of sex trafficking with a child and two counts of sex trafficking by means of force, fraud or coercion.

Both lawyers depicted Alaboudi as someone who had taken little advantage of an opportunity to come to the U.S. Koliner said Alaboudi had been granted asylum to come to the U.S. from Iraq and was given disability retirement. But he ended up in a dingy one-room Sioux Falls apartment, from which he took advantage of underage runaways and homeless teens. “This defendant was looking to catch them as they fell through the cracks,” Koliner said.

Kooistra urged the jury not to be swayed by lurid details in the case but to focus rigorously on evidence and to weigh whether the government met its burden of proof. He said the allegations against Alaboudi “makes this hard to listen to, hard to think about.”

In anticipation of Kooistra’s closing argument, Koliner used his own time before the jury beforehand to attack the notion the various young victims would have gotten together to align their stories in a conspiracy to convict Alaboudi.

“What a terrible coincidence for this defendant,” he scoffed. “You don’t need a lawyer to tell you who to believe.”

In rebuttal, assistant U.S. attorney Jeff Clapper sought to explain apparent inconsistencies in narratives and dates. Nobody kept a detailed calendar, he said, but when they testified to events that occurred during more than a year, the victims were able to narrow the time line to a range of several months. Also, building trust with fearful, skeptical and embarrassed young abuse victims is a painstaking process for investigators. It often requires multiple interviews, and information comes out in fits and starts.

“Just because they had issues with drugs and who they associated with doesn’t mean this man gets to use and abuse them,” Clapper said. “Their credibility has been attacked throughout this case. Just because they didn’t disclose all the facts before they were discovered doesn’t mean this didn’t happen to them.”

Koliner characterized Alaboudi as banking on his ability to intimidate the girls he prostituted.

“I’m sure he never thought these scared little girls would ever come in here and tell you what happened to them.” In truth, the victims as runaways and drug addicts have histories of fleeing difficult situations. “But they didn’t do that this time,” Koliner said.

2nd Rochdale Grooming Gang Jailed For 26 Years For Sexual Exploitation Of Schoolgirls

It has taken a while to happen but the second bunch of no good rape jihadists from Rochdale have finally been sentenced receiving a total of 26 years for sexually abusing vulnerable British schoolgirls. There should be no stone left unturned for  Islamononces to hide under in the hunt to bring them to justice. The police owe it to every victim who suffered at the hands of Muslim grooming gangs for so long whilst they was afraid to take action in case they was branded racist.

By Nick Martin, Sky News Correspondent

Five men who sexually exploited a 15-year-old girl in Rochdale have been jailed for a total of 26-and-a-half years.

The majority of the defendants were first arrested last year after a separate trial at Liverpool Crown Court revealed a largely Pakistani-heritage child sex ring abusing white girls in the town.

The victim, now aged 20, was described as having a “chaotic early life” who would drink to excess, take drugs, stay out late and sniff lighter fluid and self harm. She spent several years in care before returning to her mother’s house where her drink and drug taking continued.

Manchester Minshull Crown Court heard that many of her abusers plied her with vodka and cannabis before committing their offences in 2008 and 2009.

Congolese refugee Freddie Kendakumana, 27, of Illminster, Rochdale, was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years for rape and sexual activity with a child.

Mohammed Rafiq Abubaker, 32, of Freehold, Rochdale was jailed for two-and-a-half years for sexual activity with a child, whilst takeaway worker Roheez Khan, 27, of Ashfield Road, Rochdale, was sentenced to six-and-a-half years for sexual activity with a child and witness intimidation.

A fourth man, Chola Chansa, 33, of Illminster, Rochdale, was jailed for five years for sexual activity with a child.

Taxi driver Abdul Huk, 37, of Ouldfield Close, Rochdale, was sentenced to four years for sexual activity with a child.

Questions have been asked after it was revealed that Kendakumana had been arrested and interviewed before by Greater Manchester police (GMP).

The Streets Of Rochdale After Child Exploitation Arrests
The Rochdale victim in this case was not linked to men convicted last year

In December 2008 the girl complained to police that she had been raped the previous month.

The girl was told at the time by an interviewing male officer to stay away from Kendakumana while the investigation continued. But Sky News understands social care and health professionals dealing with the youngster failed to pass on her other reports in 2008 and 2009 that she was having consensual sexual contact with older men whom she labelled “boyfriends”.

Kendakumana was finally charged, along with his co-defendants, in October 2012 – nearly four years after the girl made the initial rape complaints as several men went on to abuse her in the intervening period.

From the end of 2008 to October 2011, the girl had undergone a total of 23 video-recorded police interviews.

The victim was first prompted to go to the police on the advice of a health support worker when she disclosed that Kendakumana was sexually forcing himself on her.

There was no suggestion that the victim had been “passed around” by the different men, although some were known to each other, the court heard.

In a victim impact statement, read out in court, she wrote: “I look back on the years I was drinking and hanging around with these men and see that this period has impacted on my education and what exams I failed to pass, this has followed into my adult life.

“I think a lot about that period of my life, I sometimes blame others like my mum, social services and the men, but I sometimes blame myself,” she said.

In May last year, nine men were jailed for the systematic grooming and sexual abuse of five girls – aged between 13 and 15 – in Heywood and Rochdale. Their trial at Liverpool Crown Court resulted in a national debate over the role of gangs of largely Pakistani-heritage men in grooming white girls.

A subsequent report from child safeguarding chiefs ruled that social workers, police and prosecutors had missed opportunities to stop the exploitation in Heywood and Rochdale.

Social workers in Rochdale were criticised for their approach to dealing with underage girls who were deemed to be “making their own choices” in engaging in consensual sex.

Although the girl in the latest court proceedings was being abused at about the same time, she had no known links with any of the defendants who were jailed at Liverpool Crown Court.

The convicted men in the Manchester trials came from a range of nationalities – Kendakumana and Chansa are from Congo, Abubaker is a Kurd, while Huk and Khan are believed to be of Pakistani heritage.

Several knew each other but it was not the prosecution case that they all acted as an organised gang.

The case has been voluntarily referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

Pathetic Sentence As Muslim Groomer Escapes Prison

One of the things which really rubs me up the wrong way is paedophiles getting soft sentences. By that i don’t mean only Muslim paedophiles either, i mean them all irrespective religion or anything else. They are the worst vermin i can think off. Mohammed Hussain had already served one custodial sentence for sexual activity with a child in the past. He was released from jail with the chance to prove that prison was enough of a punishment to make him see the error of his ways, not repeat offend and live the rest of his life as a model citizen.

Thats to easy for him, instead he chose to groom young girls in online chat rooms because prison did not rehabilitate him. This is because he is a vile sexual predator who gets off on little girls and did not want to change. So when he is arrested again common sense would say throw the book at him. He had his second chance and blew it.

Lucky for Mohammed Hussain and unlucky for everybody else, he was in front of District Judge Mary Connelly. An incompetent judge who doesn’t seem to care if children are put at risk by Hussain escaping a custodial sentence

Mohammed Hussain, of Longfield Road, was found in possession of over 20 indecent photographs of children, and on Friday was sentenced to a community order and banned from owning a device capable of holding images.

Hussain was arrested in July 2012 after police officers launched an investigation and attended his property to search his phone.

The 24-year-old had been chatting to a number of teenage girls aged 13 to 16 on online chat rooms and been requesting images which were found on his email account and smart phones.

Appearing at St Albans Magistrates Court, Hussain, who had previously pleaded guilty to the offence in October, was sentenced to a three year supervised community order and treatment programme.

Between June 28, 2010, and June 24, 2012, the restaurant worker made four level one images of children, one level four image, and was in possession of 20 level one images. The level of seriousness goes from level one up to five.

The court heard that after serving a previous custodial sentence for sexual activity with a child, Hussain took on two jobs and began studying at college.

Mitigating, his solicitor Sohail Bashir said: “He is a man that has made some change to his life and somebody who has not returned to reoffending.”

But District Judge Mary Connelly, sentencing, said a probation officer had suggested concern with Hussain’s difficulty to understand his offending and decided to make a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO), banning him from owning any device capable of storing images, or capable of accessing the internet unless it could show the browsing history.

The judge said: “I can only make one if I’m satisfied that it’s necessary to protect the public with concerns to sexual harm, and the way that you obtained these images amounts as what is referred to as grooming, and from looking at your report that does concern me.”

Hussain is also forbidden from deleting his computer’s history, must surrender any devices to the police on request, and has been placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years.

2nd Rochdale Grooming Gang, 5 Found Guilty Of Sexualy Abusing White Schoolgirl In Hush-Hush Trial

Rochdale is back in the news once again for all the wrong reasons, paedophile gangs sexually abusing white schoolgirls considered as vulnerable. Shortly after the original Rochdale grooming gang were sentence. News broke that Greater Manchester Police had smashed a 2nd grooming gang from the heavily Islamized town. I followed the case until after their first date in court which was adjourned. Then all that followed was silence on the case. I made several attempts over the last 10 months to try and uncover what was going with these perverts you could find no mention of any of the accused.

Now i know why, just like the case last year was originally until patriots found out and exposed what was happening. There was a media blackout in place, doing so also kept the anti grooming protesters away during the trial.

The good news is 5 paedophiles have been found guilty. 3 of those were Muslims like the grooming gang in the first trial. The other two nonces were African immigrants from Congo which only has a small amount of Muslim population. Muslims or not , its good to have the beasts out of circulation . Lets hope there will be deportation papers awaiting them when their sentence is up.

Five men sexually exploited ‘damaged’ 15-year-old girl in Rochdale

Five men sexually exploited the “profound vulnerability” of a “damaged” 15-year-old girl inRochdale, it can be reported today.

The victim, now aged 20, gave evidence against the defendants in two trials.

Many of her abusers plied the troubled teenager with vodka and cannabis before committing their offences, which took place in 2008 and 2009, Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court heard.

The majority of the defendants were first arrested last year after the grim portrayal of a largely Pakistani-heritage child sex ring preying on white girls in the town emerged into the public domain in a separate trial at Liverpool Crown Court.

But one of her abusers, Congolese refugee Freddie Kendakumana, was arrested and interviewed by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) in December 2008 after the girl – also white – complained to police that he had raped her the month before.

The girl was told at the time by an interviewing male officer that it was important not to have any future dealings with Kendakumana while the investigation continued but she later confessed she had bumped into him at a flat. Soon after, she went on to have consensual sex with his friend when still aged 15, although that man knew she was under-age.

In a later interview, she explained: “I spoke to the police about it. The police said don’t go back there. If you go back up there, we don’t have a case, so I said I won’t.

“I went on to see Freddie in a flat. I didn’t really speak to him, I had a drink and then came home.”

Kendakamuna, 27, was finally charged, along with his co-defendants, in October 2012 – nearly four years after the girl made the initial rape complaints as several men went on to abuse her in the intervening period.

By that time the girl had undergone numerous video-recorded police interviews from the end of 2008 to October 2011, totalling more than 23 hours.

The victim was first prompted to go to the police on the advice of a health support worker when she disclosed that Kendakumana was sexually forcing himself on her.

But social care and health professionals dealing with the youngster failed to pass on her other confessions in 2008 and 2009 that she was having consensual sexual contact with a string of older men whom she labelled  “boyfriends”.

Reporting restrictions were lifted on both proceedings by Judge Jonathan Foster QC at today’s conclusion of the second trial.

Last month in the first trial, Kendakumana, of Illminster, Rochdale, was convicted of rape and sexual activity with a child. He was cleared of a second count of rape.

Two other men, Mohammed Rafiq Abubaker, 32, of Freehold, Rochdale, and takeaway worker Roheez Khan, 27, of Ashfield Road, Rochdale, were found guilty of sexual activity with a child. Khan was also convicted of witness intimidation.

A fourth man, Chola Chansa, 33, of Illminster, Rochdale, pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child just before the first trial started.

In the second trial, taxi driver Abdul Huk, 37, of Ouldfield Close, Rochdale, was found guilty yesterday of sexual activity with a child.

All five men will be sentenced on December 20.

Today the jury failed to reach a verdict on Mohammed Ali, 28, of Rochdale, on an allegation of sexual activity with a child.

The jury in the first trial also failed to reach a verdict on the same allegation against Mr Ali and, as a consequence, the Crown decided not to proceed with a third trial and has asked for the matter to lie on file.

Asrar Haider, 39, of Rochdale, was cleared by the second jury of sexual activity and inciting sexual activity with a child, while another defendant, Anjam Masood, 31, from Rochdale, was cleared of sexual activity and inciting sexual activity with a child on the direction of the judge after the prosecution said it was no longer offering evidence against him.

Charges were also dropped before the first trial against a 34-year-old man who had been accused of engaging in sexual activity with the girl in a car when she was as young as 12 or 13.

In May last year, nine men were jailed for the systematic grooming and sexual abuse of five white girls – aged between 13 and 15 – in Heywood and Rochdale.

The trial at Liverpool Crown Court resulted in a national debate over the role of gangs of largely Pakistani-heritage men in grooming white girls.

A subsequent report from child safeguarding chiefs ruled that social workers, police and prosecutors had missed opportunities to stop the exploitation in Heywood and Rochdale.

The first victim, who was 15 when the abuse began, told police what had been happening in August 2008, but her complaint was not taken seriously and she continued to be abused by the gang until December 2008 when she fell pregnant and moved away.

In July 2009, a CPS lawyer compounded the police failure to take her seriously and made the decision not to charge the two gang members she was accusing because he did not think a jury would find her “credible”.

Social workers in Rochdale were criticised for apparently writing off underage girls who were deemed to be “making their own choices” in engaging in consensual sex.

Although the girl in the latest court proceedings, who is also white, was being abused at about the same time, she had no known links with any of the defendants who were jailed at Liverpool Crown Court.

The convicted defendants in the Manchester trials also came from a range of nationalities – Kendakumana and Chansa are from Congo, Abubaker is a Kurd, while Huk and Khan are believed to be of Pakistani heritage.

Several knew each other but it was not the prosecution case that they all acted in an organised manner.

In March, Assistant Chief Constable Steve Heywood said GMP had identified 42 potential victims of child sexual exploitation in the Rochdale area and said they were working closely with six of them to bring more people to justice.

Opening the case against all the defendants, prosecutor Neil Usher said: “It is the Prosecution’s case that leading the chaotic life that she had for some time by the age of 15, she was vulnerable to being groomed and exploited by those who correctly perceived she would be easy to flatter and impress with free and plentiful drink, cannabis and just as importantly, a level of attention and affection that she craved and felt she had lacked in her difficult early life.

“She repeatedly and regularly returned to a number of older men all of whom sexually exploited her and some of whom physically abused her, despite her being advised and supported by health care and social workers.

“The risk-taking and potentially harming positions she regularly put herself in was an indication of the extent of her profound vulnerablily and emotional immaturity.”

In 2008 the girl was a troubled teenager who had been taken into care by Social Services at an early age following a chaotic upbringing by her drug addicted parents, he said.

She was later returned to her mother after a stint in foster care but began drinking alcohol, taking crack cocaine and sniffing lighter fluid from the ages of 11 and 12.

The girl had contact with a number of agencies including Pennine Care Foundation Trust’s Crisis Intervention Team which deals with sexual health and Early Break, an organisation which focuses on substance misuse problems.

The prosecutor said she would tell those agency support workers and her social workers from Rochdale Council about the lifestyle she was leading.

She would tell them that she regularly went to addresses with older men and engaged in sexual activity with them.

She claimed they would give her copious amounts of alcohol, sometimes drugs. and largely would have consensual sex with them.

The court heard that the girl realised herself just before her 16th birthday that her torrid lifestyle had to end and she later cut her ties with older men and enrolled at college.
