Who Is Paying For New £8.3 Million Mega Mosque In Accrington?

Who is funding the new monstrosity of a mega mosque costing 8.3 million pounds in Accrington?  Those involved in the running of the mosque claim it is from public donations which i find hard to swallow. Are the Muslims of Lancashire really that wealthy that they can magically stump up 8.3 million pounds between them after passing the collection bucket round? Or is it the oil rich wahabis from Saudi who have paid for its construction knowing the mosque will then have to push their own extremist version of Islam to those attending?

How did a mosque to hold 900 people with only 70 odd parking spaces pass planning? Maybe the local councillors involvement there could be something to do with it?

The new £8.3 million Raza Jamia Masjid and Link Community Centre in Accrington.

A new £8.3 million Accrington mosque is set to open later this year.

The Raza Jamia Masjid Mosque, being built between Grimshaw Street and Lower Antley Street, will be able to hold nearly 900 people for prayers and worship.

The development will also include a community centre which will be open to residents of all faiths and backgrounds for meetings, events and sporting activities.

Planning permission was approved back in June 2014 and the 1.3 acre site has been transformed over the last three years into the eye-catching two-storey facility.

Mosque leaders said they were hoping to open by May this year, however they are now aiming to complete the development by October.

Work is underway on the £8.3 million Raza Jamia Masjid and Link Community Centre

Jawid Hussain, who manages the project, said: “It’s brilliant. It looks very good and very impressive. A lot of work has gone into it.

“It’s a very complicated building and there are a lot of features to it. It’s taken a bit longer than was originally forecast.”

Jawid said all the funding has come through private donations and that they will retain the old mosque on Grimshaw Street for evening classes.

The new mosque will include three prayer halls and a library and the community centre will feature an Islamic funeral room, community facilities and dining areas.

The site will also include a 71-bay car park with six disabled spaces.

Councillor Munsif Dad, who is a member of the mosque, said: “It’s all coming along very nicely. It’s a very large development and will be a facility for the whole community and for Muslims.

67 Year Old ‘Good Samaritan’ Knocked Unconscious By ‘Asian’ Thug In Lancashire

Another spineless attack by ‘religion of peace’ members against somebody who has no chance of putting up a fight back. The victim a 67 year old pensioner came to the aid of a female train guard being abused by a gang of thugs was attacked and left unconscious.

ATTACK: Accrington railway station

A GOOD Samaritan was ‘knocked out cold’ when he confronted a gang abusing a train guard on a station platform.

The 67-year-old man was left with a broken cheek bone, two black eyes and a bruised temple in the single punch attack.

Detectives described the incident at Accrington Railway Station as ‘incredibly violent and unprovoked’.

The victim, who has no recollection of the attack, was knocked unconscious by the force of the blow to his face and left with concussion.

It is thought he may have received his other injuries when he fell and struck his head on the concrete platform.
Officers said the man was a regular user of the Burnley to Blackpool North service and was returning alone from a day out.

He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where he was still receiving treatment yesterday.

Officers said the attack took place after a group of men on the platform started verbally abusing a female guard aboard the train.

The victim, who is from the Preston area, got off the Blackburn bound service and challenged a member of the gang at 8.45pm on Tuesday.

DC Chris Biggs, investigating, said: “This gentleman was acting in a public spirited way and took exception to the terrible abuse being shown to a member of staff.

“He stepped in to defend the female train guard, who was subjected to disgusting verbal abuse from a group of youths, and found himself the victim of an incredibly violent, unprovoked assault.

“He was knocked unconscious on the floor and is still in hospital.

“I would like to speak to anyone who was at the station, perhaps on the train or platform, who may have seen or heard what happened.

“Any piece of information, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you, could help with our inquiries.

“Fortunately violent incidents like this are rare, and I am sure that most people in the community will shocked to hear about this upsetting assault.

“I would like to reassure those concerned that we are investigating and we will bring those responsible to justice.”
The attacker was described as Asian, around 18 to 22-years-old, 6ft 2ins tall and was wearing a blue hooded anorak and black tracksuit bottoms.

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the attack.

They are a 17-year-old boy from Rossendale and three men aged 19, 22 and 18, all from Accrington.

They have all been bailed pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text information to 61016, quoting reference number 258 9/2/17.

Accrington Rape Jihad : Girl Aged 16 Attacked At Train Station

The Muslim rape wave engulfing the UK continues with yet another rape jihad incident. A 16 year old girl in Lancashire has been sexually attacked at Accrington train station. The victim made the fateful mistake of engaging the sex fiend and his 2 friends in conversation outside. To the tiny mind of a sex obsessed Muslim male, something innocent like replying to them or even acknowledging them with a smile or hello is often translated as some kind of come on.

Lancashire Taxi Driver Suspended For Refusing Blind Woman And Guide Dog

We have seen Muslim taxi drivers refusing to take blind passengers with guide dogs in both the US and Canada. It was only a matter of time until it also happened in the UK. He never used religious reasons for his refusal like those in North America, but i don’t imagine it will be that long before we hear of a Muslim cab driver doing so.

Accrington taxi driver who refused to take blind woman and guide dog suspended

Lancashire Telegraph: Imran HussainImran Hussainde

A TAXI driver has been suspended after he refused to pick up a blind woman and her guide dog, saying he was allergic to pets.

Imran Hussain, who works for Accrington firm Max Cabs, was hauled before a judicial panel at the council after it was claimed he left Jenny Nedwell and her two-year-old Labrador, Riley, standing in the rain.

The 34-year-old, who got his badge in 2009, was suspended from working as a taxi driver for three weeks and could now face criminal prosecution.

Mr Hussain, of Blackburn Road, Accrington, said he refused to take Miss Nedwell because he is allergic to pets and would have been putting other road users at risk if his eyes had ‘puffed up’.

But he fell foul of the Equality Act, which states taxi drivers must pick up guide dogs or risk committing a criminal offence, unless they have a medical exemption certificate from the council.

Former Haslingden High pupil, Miss Nedwell, a wellbeing and work co-ordinator at Bootstrap Enterprises, Blackburn, said she ordered a taxi because of the rain and a meeting at work.

Miss Nedwell said: “This time, enough was enough. I was late for work and it was ridiculous.

“Riley is a black dog with a high-vis yellow and white harness on. It’s very obvious that he’s a working dog.

“It’s discrimination and that’s what got to me really. It’s not fair.”

Speaking after Monday’s hearing, Mr Hussain said he should have told the council about his medical condition.

He said he discovered his allergy when his eyes ‘puffed up’ after coming close to a pet, and that he had never been asked to pick up a dog in his taxi before this incident on October 17 last year.

He said: “I had to inform the council about my illness at the time and I didn’t. I’m glad I’m still working because what has happened is very harsh.

“I always pick my customers up, but in that situation I would have been putting her, other people, and myself at risk.

“The council are going to give me a (medical exemption) certificate.”

A spokesman for Max Cabs said: “Until the council issues him with a medical exemption certificate, he will be asked to pick up guide dogs.

“This has highlighted a shortfall in the council’s application process.

“We want the council to have a big tick box on the initial application form asking if drivers are allergic to dogs.

“We don’t have a single driver that has a certificate, so they will be expected to pick up guide dogs.”

Coun Molineux, who is also a councillor and a disabled champion at Lancashire County Council, is a member of Hyndburn Council’s judicial committee but did not sit on the committee for this case.

He said he was ‘angry and disappointed’ when he heard Mr Hussain had refused to pick up his partner.

He said: “It was not the first time we have had issues with taxis picking us up.

“On occasion, drivers have tried to charge more, and tried to charge separately for the dog, and on other occasions, they make you feel like they don’t want the dog there.

“For Jenny and me, it was not about punishment, it was about making drivers aware they have a legal obligation to carry guide dogs.

“In this case, the punishment was probably needed, but we are glad he has not lost his licence.

“Maybe drivers in the future will think twice about not taking a guide dog.”

Nearly 25 per cent of blind people have been refused access to transport, a survey by Guide Dogs for the Blind Association found. Two thirds of complaints were against taxi drivers, the survey said.

The charity said it was keen to work with taxi companies, and can givetraining on how to help blind and partially sighted people.

For more information, call 0845 372 7407, or visit http://www.guidedogs.org.uk/manchester

A spokeswoman for Hyndburn Council said “We cannot comment on individual cases. However, the council would not usually be the prosecuting authority and it would usually be up to the complainant to decide whether they wanted to refer the matter to the police.”

Student subjected to ‘vicious’ attack in Accrington

6:00pm Thursday 4th October 2012 in News By Catherine Pye, Health reporter

A 17-YEAR-OLD girl was “viciously” attacked with a knife as she walked to college in Accrington.

Police said the teenager was walking along Lancaster Avenue, on her way to Accrington and Rossendale College, when she was approached by two Asian men.

The men are said to have walked behind her into Milnshaw Park, at which point, she was assaulted by them.

The girl was punched several times and suffered a small cut to her face, believed to have been caused by a small craft knife.

Detective Inspector Jill Johnston said: “This seems to be a completely unprovoked attack and we are very keen indeed to trace the people responsible, and we would ask anyone with any information to come forward as soon as possible.

“Fortunately, the girl’s injuries were only minor, but she was clearly left very shaken by what happened.

“In particular, we believe there was a man, thought to be in his 60s, who was walking a ‘Westie-type’ dog.

“The man may have witnessed what happened, but has not yet spoken to police.

“I would ask him, if he sees this appeal, to get in touch with us.

“He could have vital information.”

The attack happened at around 9.05am on Friday, September 28.

The first of the two men has been described as Asian, in his late teens to early 20s, about six feet tall, and of slim build. He was wearing a black tracksuit.

The second man has been described as Asian, and of the same age.

He was around five feet six inches tall, of stocky build, with a distinctive tattoo on the right side of his neck.

He was also wearing a black tracksuit.
