Woman Attacked By ‘Asian’ Male Saved By Two Good Samaritans


Appeal after woman is attacked in Hotel Street, Coalville

Police have urged two men who intervened when a woman was being attacked to come forward.

The woman was attacked by a man at the level crossing in Hotel Street, Coalville town centre. The man approached her and tried to grab her.

The two men spotted what was happening and shouted at the attacker, scaring him away.

The men comforted the victim before walking away toward the town centre.

The incident happened at 9pm on Saturday, April 19. Police released details today and urged the two men and any other witnesses to come forward.

Pc Adam Archer said: “Although the victim wasn’t hurt during the incident, she was left extremely distressed by what happened.

“This was an isolated incident but obviously we are concerned about what happened.

“We would urge the two men who assisted the victim to contact us as they may be able to assist us with our investigation.

“We would also like to speak to anyone else who may have been in the area on Saturday, April 19 and saw anyone fitting the description of the suspect.”

The suspect is Asian, 6ft to 6ft 2ins, of medium to slim build and has dark hair and hazel eyes.
