Ofsted Give Extremist Islamic School Lowest Grades In Everything. So What Do You Say To That Iftikhar Ahmad?

Ofsted today published its findings from the recent inspection at controversial Muslim free school Al-Madinah in Derby. The taxpayer funded school opened in 2012, and has made headlines for its strict Islamic practices and  discrimination to female pupils and staff. Non Muslim staff were told they must wear Islamic dress including Hijabs. They were also ordered not to bring non-halal food to school for their own lunches. It was this discrimination against females and non-Muslim staff that caused outrage recently when it hit the headlines. As a result Schools inspectors Ofsted did an unplanned inspection of the school.

This school is dysfunctional Ofsted report Al-Madinah free school in Derby is set to be placed in special measures after being judged "inadequate" by Ofsted in a damning report.

The idea of a segregated religious school was opposed by the Derby Campaign for Inclusive Education (DCIE) on the grounds that education should be inclusive with children from different backgrounds being educated together so they can make up their own minds as to what to believe as adults.

Ofsteds report confirmed what many of us already suspected about the sub standard levels of teaching and other goings on in Muslim schools that are based on the Quran with all its inconsistencies.

Main Points From Report:

  • Overall effectiveness: Inadequate :  4
  • Achievement of pupils : Inadequate : 4
  • Quality of teaching: Inadequate : 4
  • Behaviour and safety of pupils:  Inadequate : 4
  • Leadership and management: Inadequate:  4

(4 is the lowest possible score)

  • This is a school that requires special measures.
  • This school is dysfunctional.
  • The basic systems and processes a school needs to operate well are not in place.
  • This is a school which has been set up and run by representatives of the community with limited knowledge and experience. Leadership and management, including governance, are inadequate and have been unable to improve the school.
  • The school has not been adequately monitored or supported. Pupils’ achievement is inadequate because the staff’s expectations are too low and pupils do not make enough progress.
  • Teaching is inadequate. Many teachers are inexperienced and have not received the training and support they need.
  •  In many lessons, pupils are given the same work to do regardless of their different abilities.
  • Behaviour and safety are inadequate because attendance is low and declining Procedures for ensuring pupils are safe do not meet requirements.
  • The governing body is ineffective. Until recently, the governing body had not appreciated how poor pupils’ experiences are.
  • The school’s finances are not properly managed and the usual safe recruitment processes have not been followed.

Full report can be seen here : http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/files/2276225/urn/138776.pdf

After reading the report on Al Madina school, i spoke with a school teacher to gauge their opinion on it to see if the findings were as bad as they looked. They confirmed they are just as bad as they look, if anything after speaking with the teacher i get the impression they are much worse than i first thought. The overall effectiveness grade 4 -Inadequate puts it in the bottom 6% of all schools in the country. The grade 4 Inadequate across the board in every subsection is not just inadequate but pathetic. In the inspectors eyes this school is one of the worst schools in the UK.

For a school that promises so much according to its brochure for prospective parents it has achieved nothing. Amongst all the false promises and pro Muslim i did notice a couple of things that looked dodgy to me as a non-Muslim. Dinner Time is not in order of classes but by sex, all boys then when they finish lunchtime the girls have theirs. PE is the same. It’s almost as if any time the children have to enjoy themselves and intermingle, sex segregation is enforced.

The children have as many as 6 Islamic related lessons per week. 3 Quranic type lessons and 3 on Islamic science. WTF ISLAMIC SCIENCE!!!! No wonder the school is so useless. If they are teaching them false science from the Quran that has been proved wrong long ago. Some fine examples of Islamic science that Muslims believe are:   The sun sets in a swamp,   the earth is flat,   males sperm is from the ribs,     camel urine is a miracle cure for every illness,   man is made from clay,    Women are deficient in intelligence, etc etc.

There is no place in British society for Muslim only schools. This report shows how they are way off the mark academically in everything. Not only are these kids having their heads filled with Islam related rubbish but given that Muslim children typically have a lower IQ due to inbreeding and without the correct learning support. The two combined does not give that child much of a future in the real world other than a life of benefits. They are also learning from an early age that sex segregation is acceptable and prohibited from mixing with the opposite sex. No encouragement or opportunity to mix with non-Muslim children hardly does much for cohesion or to promote integration.

Regular commentator on this site Iftikhar Ahmad of the London School Of Islamics pops up on every post regardless of the subject cutting and pasting his 1 man campaign for Islamic Schools in the UK. He thinks Bilingual Muslim only schools where children can learn the ‘beauty of the Quran’ and Islamic poetry are the answer to everything as opposed to monolingual British schools where girls at 10 get pregnant and learn porn is OK.

So I.A. London ,what do you say to having your fire pissed on by Ofsted  ???  Is Muslim schooling still the bees knees and answer to everything ????

  1. Subject: Derby Muslim School

It’s Muslim school. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school. Most jobs have a dress code. If you do not like it, you need not apply. You will never be happy with what Muslims do, you don’t even appreciate the act that non Muslims were invited to work in a Muslim school. The dress code is hijab, no one is forcing you to work there take it or leave it. It’s a non story yet again. More propaganda that all you middle class moaners fall for every single time. For example, I once had a job in a cafe. The manager didn’t want me to wear wrist bands from several festivals I had been to, we disagreed and I stood my ground and quit. That is the EXACT same situation as this, why didn’t my story get in the DM? Because it doesn’t fit with this(and many other) newspapers agenda of keeping us in a society of fear and hate. You people fall for it over and over again.

No other school / free school has been inspected with this rigour – the reality is because of the headscarf issue the school has been subject to a witch hunt! Not sure if Mr Williamson is aware there are schools under Derby City council in special measures also ? Maybe he does not read the local press? The truth is most MP’s send their kids to private schools so it does not matter about state schools for them”

How can it be called a failed school when it has only been opened a year, when it has been open 5 years and students have completed their GCSE’s that’s when you can pass judgement. Maybe our local MP should look at some at schools under the LEA and the **** results they are producing before he goes asking for closures.

About the scarf issue – it is a Muslim school so what is a the biggy – I was made to wear a tie and a skirt (when boys could wear trousers) because it was school policy??? I do not recall any local MP trying to close our school down???”

“I cant see any thing about the cost to the tax payer of these so called free schools and if any of them do close where to the children go and how much it will cost. if they have to bring in trained teachers this is going to put more money on there budget and pay off the other staff. at a time when the government are saying there is no money to spare for fire fighters – teachers etc they rush head long into opening more of these schools it should stop now before more money is wasted”

There is no requirement for teaching staff to hold appropriate qualifications or have the necessary experience; there is no requirement to follow the national curriculum, which does work towards recognised qualifications, and there is limited governance over general operational standards.
Everyone has a right to practice their religion regardless of who funds the education. As a Muslim I am in agreement that the lady’s dressing fails to meet the Islamic requirement. It is within her right to leave or follow the rules and continue teaching but to make this a media debacle is pointless. By the way if you are a non Muslim please do not comment on things you don’t know cause your argument will not carry any weight. I don’t understand what’s so hard to understand about the dress code for a Muslim woman. All they want to do is prevent perverted men staring them up and down. western woman sometimes were minimal clothing so they can grab the attention of men wherever they go, Muslim woman are just doing the opposite because they don’t feel the need to be prostituted. when will this propaganda stop!?

You better teach your children in your own schools and let migrant communities teach their children according to their needs and demands. British Establishment and society should concentrate on the evils of their own society and stop trying to change the way of life of Muslims. Muslim community does not want to integrate with the British society, indulging in incivility, anti-social behaviour, drug and knife culture, binge drinking, teenage pregnancies and abortion. Prince Charles, while visiting the first grant maintained Muslim school in north London, said that the pupils would be the future ambassadors of Islam. But what about thousands of others, who attend state schools deemed to be “sink schools”? In education, there should be a choice and at present it is denied to the Muslim community. In the late 80s and early 90s, when I floated the idea of Muslim community schools, I was declared a “school hijacker” by an editorial in the Newham Recorder newspaper in east London. This clearly shows that the British media does not believe in choice and diversity in the field of education and has no respect for those who are different. Muslim schools, in spite of meager resources, have excelled to a further extent this year, with couple of schools achieving 100% A-C grades for five or more GCSEs. They beat well resourced state and independent schools in Birmingham and Hackney. Muslim schools are doing better because a majority of the teachers are Muslim. The pupils are not exposed to the pressures of racism, multiculturalism and bullying.

There are hundreds of state primary and secondary schools where Muslim pupils are in majority. In my opinion all such schools may be opted out to become Muslim Academies. This mean the Muslim children will get a decent education. Muslim schools turned out balanced citizens, more tolerant of others and less likely to succumb to criminality or extremism. Muslim schools give young people confidence in who they are and an understanding of Islam’s teaching of tolerance and respect which prepares them for a positive and fulfilling role in society. Muslim schools are attractive to Muslim parents because they have better discipline and teaching Islamic values. Children like discipline, structure and boundaries. Bilingual Muslim children need Bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods, who understand their needs and demands.

  2. The school is in a mess right from very beginning by employing a non-Muslim head and a couple of non-Muslim female teachers. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

In 1987, I was invited by a couple of Muslims from Derby for a lecture to set up an Islamic school. This means the Muslim community of Derby wanted a Muslim school for a long time. At last an Islamic free school was set up last year. Muslim community of Derby needs more than one school. There are couple of state and church schools where Muslim children are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be opted out as Muslim Academies. It is a crime against Humanity to send Muslim children to state schools with non-Muslim monolingual teachers. Majority of parents were happy with the school because they find state and church schools are homes of institutional racism with non-Muslim teachers as chicken racist. They are not role model for their children during their developmental periods.

Studying the Qur’an will certainly help towards these children becoming fully integrated citizens of the UK.

Human Rights Act – Article 9: Freedom of conscience
    (1) Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief, in worship, teaching, practice and observance.
    (2) Freedom to manifest one’s religion or beliefs shall be subject only to such limitations as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society in the interests of public safety, for the protection of public order, health or morals, or for the protection of the rights and freedoms of others.

    Article 14: Discrimination
The enjoyment of the rights and freedoms set forth in this convention shall be secured without discrimination on any ground such as sex, race, colour, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, association with a national minority, property, birth or other status.

A study claims that Black and Asian pupils are being held back in the classroom because schools are “intuitionally racist”. Now a race relations campaigner has called for the creation of “black schools “to stem the avalanche of educational failure and descent into violent gang culture. It is high time that the black community runs its own schools with black teachers and black governors.

Let the minority communities educate their own children and you better educate your children for the well being of the British society.

  3. Whilst I for one am not suprised at Ofsteds findings, it is a refreshing change that someone in government has taken the very brave step of conducting this unbiased and open inspection. Congratulations.
The very fact that Ofsted were able to enter the school, conducttheir survey and draw their conclusions also shows the ignorance of this schools governors and senior staff, you cannot tell me this was a dawn swoop, no; the school would have been informed/tipped off yet they seemingly did nothing to cover up their deficiencies. These people are so full of themselves, so convinced that they and only they are right in everything they do, they allowed Ofsted to walk in, conduct their inspection and I’m sure were convinced they would get a gold medal for first place.
WRONG. Those muslim backwards bastards have shown to the world just how fucked up they really are.
THANK YOU to the governors of that school and pricks like IA are go through life with blinkers on because without your help we, the silent majority, would have an even bigger mountain to scale in our struggle against islime.

  4. I heard 3 parents being interviewed on the radio a little while ago, and god help me they were actually quite happy with the school! It would seem that the spirit of the Crusades is alive and well. Al-Madinah is certainly not the only failing school in the country. However, seasoned Ofsted report readers will I hope agree that we have never read such a damning report. Words like “dysfunctional”, “woefully inadequate” and “chaotic” do not normally feature in Ofsted reports, even when they are slating a school. The evidence is surely the 173 Free Schools that have, minor teething troubles aside, opened perfectly successfully – many opened by teams that have never opened a schools before. That’s the reality. So a Muslim school (which it seems retains a great deal of parental backing) has come a cropper with serious questions to answer. It seems however, despite the odd teething troubles (buildings, Ofsted confusion over Montessori methods, etc.) here and there, that the other 173 Free Schools have opened successfully against a backdrop of ideological sniping from local authorities, the Labour Party and teaching Unions. So the Free School failure rate so far is 0.6%. Disarray for sure. State schools get appalling Ofsted reports as well. There will be good and bad state schools and good and bad free schools.

Under the existing scheme it is all about choice. Parents freely chose to send their children to this school. They had the option of other local schools and they declined that option. You still have a choice not to send your children there. None of the free schools have been around long enough to have actual exam results. Only 25 of the 174 free schools have so far been assessed by Ofsted so it is not possible to start claiming ‘success’ for the free school experiment. Originally Gove was expecting 1000s of free schools to be opened by massed ranks of parents clamouring for the opportunity to ‘escape from the dread clutches of the local authorities’. So far, we only have 174 and of the 25 inspected two have been deemed unacceptable (or whatever the lowest category is) by Ofsted. Before anyone starts claiming that the free schools are a huge success let’s wait until they have all been inspected and let’s see how they perform in league tables and exam results. More than one million children attending failing schools, Ofsted figures show. Even in this failing Muslim school there seems to be huge support among parents.
Isn’t there a problem that indoctrination is what parents want, at least at this free school? They set the thing up to reflect their beliefs and how they want society to be run. Ofsted complained about segregation etc, not the parents. I expect most of them thought the place was wonderful. There are more state schools who have had terrible Ofsted reports than free schools or academies – how do you explain that ? Having read the Ofsted report it’s damning of the school in many ways – leadership, teaching, pupil safety, pupil attainment etc. Despite media reports there is little issue taken with anything which might be seen as specific of a Muslim school. It’s not possible to understand the mysterious practices and occurrences reported at the al Madinah free school, but one things is for sure, both the knee-jerk Islamophobic and Gove have had their credibility shredded — again

If you think the shambles at Al-Madinah is an isolated example, it’s worth taking a look at the recently published Section 8 report from HMI’s visit to Discovery Free School in Crawley. http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reports/find-inspection-report/provider/ELS/137326
The school was placed in Special Measures in June because teaching, achievement and leadership were all judged to be inadequate. Three months later, John Seal HMI returned to scrutinise the school’s plans for improvement. These were all judged to be unfit for purpose. The Head teacher has agreed to stand down. HMI said “It is essential that a credible professional is appointed to the headship without delay to provide the to remove the school from special measures.” So what has Lord Nash and his department done between June and now so that this school starts to improve ?

The school is in a mess right from very beginning by employing a non-Muslim head and a couple of non-Muslim female teachers. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

  5. IA

You are indeed correct, “There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school”. However I would like to finish the sentence for you, if I may of course!
Not only is there “no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school, there is no place for a muslim school in the UK”
    Now thats much better.

  6. The school is in a mess right from very beginning by employing a non-Muslim head and a couple of non-Muslim female teachers. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

Even a reverted Muslim should not be allowed to teach in a Muslim school. A reverted Muslim who taught in a Muslim school for 19 years and his daughter was educated in that school. When he was sacked by the school, instead of going to take legal action, he went to the press and claimed that the school has been teaching children that Jews and Christians are pigs and monkeys. Why he said because he was not well versed in Arabic or Urdu languages and he could not understand the Holy Quran and the teaching of Islam. He was given £70,000.00 to keep his mouth shut. I believe that even such Muslim teachers have no place in a Muslim school.

  7. The poor educational standards in the UK are and will continue to hinder the UK’s attempts to pull out of recession and achieve growth. Many employers know that it is not just a poor work ethic amongst an element of the youth today but the lack of proper educational achievements which are needed to be an effective member of the workforce. You should also be asking Liebour if they are proud of their achievements and if they are remind them that it just shows what low standards Liebour are prepeared to accept which would not be the case in other countries which explains why other countries are far ahead of us in achieveing growth in their economies. No doubt left wing teachers will be red arrowing me but then that says it all about them!

The real problem with education is that we’re only taught to memorise. We memorise to pass exams rather than ever truly understanding the subject material, and this will be detrimental, not only to our individual futures, but to the future of our country as well. Education needs to help us develop the ability to think laterally, because my generation is going to face extremely tough problems. We’ll have to find a way to supply huge energy demands with very limited resources, handle problems with an ageing population, figure out how to stop destroying the planet we live on, and find the solutions to countless other problems that the generations above us are currently ignoring. You’re damning us to not only have to solve the problems you amplify and avoid, but you’re also leaving us unequipped to do so. Stop destroying children’s ability to think creatively, because we won’t be able to solve the problems of tomorrow with the methods of today.
